Eligibility Information
Your family may be eligible for Early Head Start or Head Start Services if your child is six weeks to five year old, lives in Bexar County, and meets any of the following:
- Family meets Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Family receives TANF benefits
- Family receives SNAP benefits
- Family receives Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI) benefits
- Family is experiencing homelessness
- Child has a disability
- Child is in foster care
All families are encouraged to apply. Our team will review your application to verify eligibility.
Required Documents
Proof of Age
- Birth certificate
- Hospital birth records
- Other legal document to show proof of age
Proof of Residence
- Current bill or statement with parent/guardian name and address (ex. CPS or SAWS bill)
Parent/Guardian Income
- 1040
- W2
- Pay stubs
- Unemployment documents
- Statement from employer
- SNAP, TANF, or SSI Documents
- Child support (if applicable)
Guardianship Information*
- Foster Care documents
- Child Protective Services documents
- Divorce Decree/Custody documents
